SMART equips meeting center at InterContinental The Barclay New York
Award-winning hotel's business center offers guests high-tech collaboration
CALGARY, Alberta --- February 15, 2005 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces the installation of SMART Board™ interactive whiteboards in the EMC2 executive meeting center at InterContinental The Barclay New York. The hotel opened its state-of-the-art facility to cater to senior executives' need for high-quality, interactive meetings and was recently named the leading business hotel in North America at the World Travel Awards. The Barclay chose three kinds of SMART Board interactive whiteboards to provide high-tech collaboration capabilities in EMC2. Front-projection, rear-projection and flat-panel overlay models were installed in four different rooms and connected to a wireless network.
EMC2 hosts diplomats and world business leaders who travel to New York and need to have effective meetings. The Barclay shopped for a collaboration tool that was user friendly, allowed everyone to participate and was proven to increase information retention, eventually choosing SMART Board interactive whiteboards. Guests are now able to highlight pertinent information and brainstorm ideas, then save the updated files to take with them back to the office and e-mail them to meeting attendees. The hotel also provides a meetings concierge who can pre-load presentations and meeting agendas to reduce the amount of setup and preparation time.
